Philip Dunbar sailed from Scotland for America with his wife Hannah and young son, Samuel, but was killed by pirates about 1785.

Hannah Dunbar left Scotland and after the death of her husband lived with her son in Philadelphia, until he left to farm the land. The first U.S. Census lists Hannah Dunbar, Gentlewoman, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
She died there in 1812 after marrying someone named Thompson.

Samuel Dunbar Sr.was born in Edinburgh, Scotland about 1774. After sailing to America and living with his widowed mother in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania he moved to Beaver County where he farmed the land. He died in New Sewickley Township (Beaver County).

Samuel Dunbar Jr. was born  in in New Sewickley Township (Beaver County), Pennsylvania, married a woman there and probably died in New Brighton (Beaver County), Pennsylvania .

Eunice Helen "Nellie" Dunbar was born in New Brighton (Beaver County), Pennsylvania and died in Pittsburgh (Allegheny County), Pennsylvania. She wed John Merriman Price 12/27/1882. Their photos were taken in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania in January 1984. Their daughter Mazie Winnett Price was born July 1, 1884.
