Abigail Olney daughter of Thomas Olney (1600-1682). He was born at St. Albans, Hertford County, England, married fifteen year old Mary Unknown in 1620 and sailed to America on "Planter" 4/2/1635 with his young daughters Abigail and Mary. He was one of the 13 original Proprietors of Providence Plantations and was a town treasurer from 1638-1669. He signed the agreement of 1640 for a form of government and acted as assistant governor in 1649. He was commissioner for Providence to the Court of Commissioners 1656-1663, and Deputy 1665-1671. He was named in the Royal Charter granted by King Charles II in 1663.
